Scott Todd

Scott C. Todd, Ph.D., has served Compassion International as Director of the AIDS Initiative, Child Survival Program and Complementary Interventions — programs that encompass $40 million in field operations ranging from disaster relief to Bible distribution.

He represents Compassion in networks focused on mission, development and children. After receiving his Ph.D. in immunology from the University of California in 1996, he was a fellow in oncology at Stanford University.  His work is published in more than a dozen biomedical journals, and he holds a patent for the treatment of hepatitis C.

As a passionate follower of Jesus Christ, Scott left academic research to join Compassion International in 2003. Scott has spoken in churches, conferences, workshops and leadership events across Africa, Asia and Latin America as well as in the U.S., and has been featured in nationwide TV and radio news interviews.

He champions the importance of children, the criticality of the church and the centrality of Christ. He believes that his generation of Christ-followers will eradicate extreme global poverty.

David Adams

David Adams’ desire to integrate his faith into his work in a substantive way brought him to Cross International in 2006, after years of service in the United States government, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

As Vice President for International Missions, David turns Cross’ vision into action, by planning, recommending, and monitoring our ongoing projects and serving the poorest of the poor worldwide. He supervises a staff of dedicated and capable projects officers and gifts-in-kind shipping managers who travel throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia, building relationships with local ministries and monitoring their needs and accomplishments.

David’s prior experience as Mission Director of USAID’s $350 million mission to Haiti has equipped him to help Cross maintain a strong humanitarian presence in the deeply impoverished Caribbean nation. His government experience has also enabled him to fulfill an instrumental role in securing AIDS relief funds for Cross projects through the U.S. PEPFAR initiative. During the 2010 Haiti earthquake crisis, David sought and received permission to redirect some of the PEPFAR funds and U.S. government-supplied food toward the much more immediate need for disaster relief.

David has been selected as a board member of Accord™. He holds a Master’s of Arts Degree in International Affairs (Economics) from George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Government/International Relations from the College of William & Mary. He has worked extensively in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe, and was named a Foreign Service Fellow by Georgetown University.

Stephan is a Certified Public Accountant, an ordained minister, and holds a master’s in International Development (Johns Hopkins University), a master’s in Intercultural Studies (Wheaton College), and a bachelor’s in Business (University of Wisconsin).
