International Short Term Management Consultants

Canner Operator

Each year since 1946, MCC has sent out a mobile meat canner, which MCC workers and volunteers use to preserve hundreds of thousands of cans of meat for communities in need across the globe. Canner operators travel with the meat canner to 34 different locations across the US and Canada, canning beef, turkey, and pork, Canners are responsible for all aspects of the project including: operating steam and pressure vessels, coordinating volunteers, maintaining and communicating USDA regulations, and the maintenance of all machinery in the canning process. Lifelong relationships are forged, opening new doors for life after canning.
MCC prefers to place 2 Canners per year. The Canning Team is comprised of four individuals, typically 2 in their first year and 2 in their second.
 
Canner operators work 8 -12 hour days from October through April including Saturdays.  Canners are compensated for long working hours during the canning season by getting extra vacation time.   Summers are spent in Akron with regular working hours.  This may include working for the maintenance department or as drivers and materials handlers at warehouse facilities.  MCC will arrange for each canner to attend a U.S.D.A. approved canning course and to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

During the off season the canner will be a part of Akron Connection Service Program, a service unit connected to MCC’s offices in Akron & Ephrata Pa.

Haiti Country Director

We have an opportunity in our Haiti operation for a Country Director. The ideal candidate is someone with a proven ability to lead and grow all country operations. In this role you would support the mission of the organization by leading and managing MTI’s work in-country; representing MTI to key stakeholders; and overseeing the development and implementation of the country’s strategy and quality programs. 

Ideally, your background would include serving as a member of the humanitarian community in either the Humanitarian Country Team, or other development or health related coordination forum. You would have a thorough knowledge of local funding opportunities and programmatic needs. This role would also take full advantage of your background as an excellent communicator, leader, influencer, self-starter, and strategic planner. Vice President Field Operations

Provides strategic and executive leadership for Medical Teams International’s (MTI) Field Operations team of 1000+ staff across the organization. As the head of MTI’s largest department, this is an extremely important field-oriented position that provides overall direction and support for MTI’s operations and logistics related ministries. The position oversees a team of directors who, in turn, oversee Regional programs and their respective teams (including 8 Country Directors), the Humanitarian Response Team (HuRT), Medical Health Products (MHP), and the Mobile Dental Team. 

Medical Teams is built on a history of using volunteers and thus the Field Operations team assumes responsibility for oversight and management of volunteers deployed for domestic and international field work. Field Operations has responsibility for high quality implementation of private and donor funded programs across the globe and works closely with the Strategy and Impact team to acquire new funding for international and domestic programs. Field Operations also collaborates closely with Finance and Administration, Marketing and Development, and Strategy and Impact to ensure that these teams are providing the key systems, support, and resources needed for field programs to succeed. Field Operations integrates our Christian ethos and programming approaches across all program areas.

Grant and Compliance Officer

This position is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of all grants and contracts for a portfolio of programs. Regional Program Director, East Africa

Reporting to the President, the Regional Program Director, East Africa will serve as a vital member of the Global Programs Team at Lifewater International. Based in East Africa, the Director will be responsible for the growth and implementation of Lifewater programs throughout their region of service. At present, there are three field offices implementing multi-year programs in the target region. The responsibility of the director of technical assistance is to provide critical management, technical support, and capacity building to the field leadership of HOPE China’s microenterprise program, working closely with the HOPE China management team and HOPE’s Central Services Unit (HQ, “CSU”) to fulfill HOPE China’s mission to alleviate spiritual and physical poverty. The primary responsibilities will be to promote and fulfill the mission and vision of HOPE International by supporting the branch staff, working closely with the HOPE China and CSU management team, monitoring and evaluating program performance, and managing program risk.

National Director, Convoy of Hope Philippines

The National Director (ND) will manage, lead, direct, and shape a vision for Convoy of Hope Philippines in line with the established policies, principles, and operating practices of Convoy of Hope. The ND will implement and demonstrate good management practices that match the political, social, cultural, and economic landscape.
